2. Duratrans Print on Lightbox Frame, Two Channel Sound
To do this, I derived the position of the two photographs in the space from the angle at which each was taken. The water surface, photographed from above as I leaned toward it, lies in a light box placed on the floor at the center of the room; the viewer bends down to look at it. The slope and the layered cut beneath it, photographed from across, hang on the wall at eye level. Neither image contains a horizon; the horizon forms on its own between wall and floor, at the level of the viewer’s body. In the darkened room, the two images are accompanied by a two-channel sound installation made of the footsteps I recorded while walking along the river and the sound of the river itself.
