Developed through photography, sound, video, and found objects accumulated over several years, the project revisits and reinterprets images produced at different times. Drawing on the river’s connective nature, the narrative merges the layers of diverse geographies once linked by water, bringing together the tangible and the imagined, observation and memory within a fluid continuum.
Structured through three interrelated narratives, the installation reflects landscapes encountered along the river, the bird’s-eye view of its bed, and cross-sections gathered from various regions. Moving through the temporal flow of past, present, and future, the three-channel video installation both reveals the river’s memory and proposes new perspectives on it.
In line with Kahya’s recent practice, which embraces a democratic approach that invites the viewer to sense and participate in the creative process, “Endless Landscape” transforms the act of viewing into an immersive experience— inviting the audience to become part of the river’s ongoing movement and transformation.
New landscapes of viewers who came to the interactive space created with overhead projectors, a plexiglass pool, glass, and photographs.
